Very straight forward and easy to switch from HiDPI to Non-HiDPI which I often do for screen sharing to conserve on bandwidth

I was looking for a program that would allow me to easily/quickly switch between resolutions (mainly 1280x800 and the full 2560x1600 on my haswell 13” MBPr). This does exactly that! Well worth the half-a-coffee I paid for it since you can’t even choose 2560x1600 in the display menu. It puts any external displays in the drop down as well.
Great app. Works exactly how I hoped it would. I had a different app that bugged out frequently and applied the wrong resolution. This one works great, worth the investment if you have a retina display and don’t stick with the default 1440x900 x2 resolution. Best part is it allows you to set a hotkey to switch between your two most recent resolutions
Never write reviews. I felt compelled to express my feelings about this app. I love it.
Fast switching to true HiDPI and back modes. CMD+Click on icon for fast switching. Works great.
My 28” 4K monitor would be extremely difficult (approaching unusable) if I didn’t have this app. I sit with my monitor on the desk in front of me and before this app had extremely small UI elements. After looking around online, I found this app and have found it to be an extremely useful tool that solves a big headache. Excellent job!
I know you can go to display settings and change the res, but nothing beats just having a command shortcut to switch between different retina modes. A+
I got this app to test some UI work in HiDPI mode and it seems to work flawlessly. The initial setup should probably display the information on enabling HiDPI mode instead of burying it under “More Information…” in the “HiDPI mode not available” dialog, but maybe I missed that info somewhere else. I like the fact that in a multi-monitor setup like mine, one monitor can be set to HiDPI mode while the other one isn’t. Simple, cheap, works great: 5 stars.
Good app, but it does not has not been updated to include a dark mode menu bar icon, which is unusually important because the app cannot be hidden from the menu bar.
I could switch to native 2880 x 1800 resolution, but it doesn’t stay on after reboot even I though checked “Launch at Login”. I have to manually switch to 2880 x 1800 resolution every time I reboot. If it stays on automatically the last resolution setting after reboot, I would give this at least a 4 star, more likely a 5 star.
I love this app. It might be the simplest but most-used piece of software on my retina MacBook Pro. I switch between resolutions all the time depending on what I’m working on and this app has never failed, never messed up, never crashed. It’s perfect.
Installed this App to see how many more pixels I could get. I was amazed that I can get a full 2560 x 1600 resolution on my new 12 inch Macbook. Now I can toggle the resolution depending on whether I’m coding, working with Final Cut or just checking email and browsing the web. I recommend this App.
Only $2, so gave it a shot. Does NOT work with a MacBook Pro w/Retina on an External Monitor (tv). Highest resolution you can get shows as 1920x1080, yet all the fonts are still blurry.
I tried the plist terminal command, etc. and nothing was working to enable HiDPI modes. Installed this little app and boom! - You can switch between HiDPI and standard resolutions with ease. On my UHD420 it actually enabled 14 HiDPI resolutions to pick from! Native resolution for this display is 3840x2160 and it enabled a varying array of HiDPI resolutions ranging from 3200x1800 HiDPI down through 800x450 HiDPI (of course including the standards of 2560x1440, 1920x1080, 1280x720, etc.). It also had the same number (plus some) of standard non-HiDPI resolutions to pick from as well. For the record this was on El Capitan. Good stuff!
This app does not work at all on my MacBook pro 13”! I want my money back! I know it’s only $2 but it’s the principal. I tried all the tutorials on their website on how to make this work and none of them worked. I even sent their customer support an email about 2 weeks ago and didn’t receive an answer back. I went on their website and it says nothing about compatibility issues with a MacBook Pro 13” only a MacBook Air 11”. Their support website is a joke they only have 3 Frequently Asked Questions listed and no public discussion. Don’t bother with this app, no support, does not work. Apple should revoke their developers license, they are making the App Store look bad.
I’m a web designer so I have to check websites on multiple size screen and this is so handy to be able to switch between them quickly.
